TORONTO – The income gap between Ontario’s richest and poorest families is greater than ever before and the most pronounced in the country, according to a study released yesterday by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.

The research shows the most affluent 10 per cent of families with children under 18 had before-tax income in 2004 that was 75 times more than the poorest 10 per cent. In 1976, they earned 27 times more.
